This post brings together two of my favourite things; small, artisanal, heritage brands, and beautifully set tables. This is, I’m sure, a winning combination.
I am a firm believer in setting a table, collecting beautiful objects that you love to use. To me, nothing is more welcoming than a table dressed for a family meal. We are so lucky in the U.K. to have a wealth of heritage brands still using traditional manufacturing techniques and generational knowledge to make the highest quality items, but sometimes these companies get drowned out by the mass produced.
Glazebrook is anything but. Still made in Sheffield (the home to English Cutlery manufacturing), they produce in Stainless Steel, Silver Plate, and Stirling Silver – so you really can purchase an heirloom! I’m dreaming of one of their canteens! The ‘bone’ handles come in black and ivory, for a beautifully traditional look, and as a bonus, they’re dishwasher safe.
Now I just have to decide on a design…!
